The A55 is the trunk route from the main motorway network and runs along the North Wales coast to Holyhead.
Turn off at the junction for Abergele and head for the town centre along the A547 (about half a mile).
In Abergele town centre, turn left onto the A548 (signposted to Llanrwst).
Continue on this road (south) to the village of Llanfair Talhaiarn (sometimes called Llanfair TH), about 4 miles.
Turn left onto the A544 following the signs for Llansannan.
The road winds uphill and then downhill for about 3 miles. On the approach to the village of Llansannan you will see a road to the right running down the hillside with a white fence along it.
Slow at the junction, and take this road back up the hill. It's a sharp right turn onto the B5382!
Continue on this road for just less than a mile. The road then forks in two. Take the left fork onto the B5384 (waymarked Gwytherin).
Shortly afterwards you will pass some cross-roads. Continue straight on the B5384 and Tan Y Bwlch is just a little further on the left side of road.
Rhyl is the nearest main-line station and has a direct rail service from London Euston, Manchester and Cardiff.
There is 'Abergele and Pensarn' which is the nearest station on the North Wales coast, but is served only by a local 'stopping' service.
In the scenic Conwy Valley there are stations at Llanrwst (7 miles away) and Betws-y-Coed.
